Cellist, Antoinette Gan

Antoinette Gan graduated from  the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. She started the violin at the age of five with Paul Landefeld at the Suzuki Institute of Dallas. At the age of eight, she started the cello with John Landefeld and, at the age of eleven, continued her cello studies with Michael Coren.  In the summers she has studied with Hans Jorgen Jensen,  Richard Aaron and Zvi Plesser at the Encore School for Strings. Antoinette has received honorable mention at the Lennox Competition, second place in the strings division of the Juanita Miller Competition, and was the Grand Prize Winner of the Strings division of the DMTA Symphonic Festival in 2006. She was a national finalist in the MTNA senior strings competition in the 2005-2006 year and was a concerto finalist at the Kingsville International Competition for two consecutive years. She has soloed with the Lake Lewisville Symphony and the Southern Methodist University Meadows Orchestra. She hopes to pursue a career as a professional cellist.
