George Papich George Papich received his formal musical training at the University of Michigan. His major teachers were Robert Courte and Mischa Mischakoff. He has had a variety of teaching experiences, both in public schools and universities. Dr. Papich has been principal violist in the Forth Worth Symphony, Dallas, Opera, Dallas Lyric Opera, Dallas Ballet and the Chattanooga Symphony. He has played chamber music throughout the United States and Europe and he has been a member of the Seventh Army String Trio, the Fine Arts Piano Quartet, Chamber Music International the Shiras String Quartet and the University of North Texas String Quartet. He was asked to represent the United States as a judge at the Evian String Quartet Competition. He has taught chamber music at the Manchester Music Festival the Killington Music Festival and Carol Glenn and Cague List Institute during the summer. Presently Dr. Papich is Coordinator of Chamber Music at UNT where in the past he has been Coordinator of the String Department and of the Doctor of Musical Arts Program. He has been honored with the rank of Regents Professor at the University of North Texas. |

John Geisel John Geisel, a graduate of Indiana University, has been a member of the Dallas Symphony viola section since 1984. He has also performed with the Dallas Chamber Orchestra, Dallas Bach Society, Fine Arts Chamber Players, Voices of Change and the Walden Piano Quartet. Before his appointment in Dallas, he was first violinist with the Seattle Symphony and the Pacific Northwest Wagner Festival. He has also served as associate concertmaster of the Omaha Symphony. His wife, Jeanine, is the assistant principal second violinist with the Fort Worth Symphony and Chamber Orchestra. |

Luis Sanchez Born in Argentina, Dr. Luis Sanchez joined the faculty of Texas A&M University –Commerce in 2007 as Assistant Professor of Piano. He leads an active career as a soloist, clinician, collaborative artist, and adjudicator. He has been featured soloist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ball State Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Sanchez has been an adjudicator of the SAI Piano Competition - Chautauqua Summer Institution, the Florida State Music Teachers Association piano competitions, and the Florida Orchestra Young Artist Competition, among others. Recent engagements include recitals and master classes at Central Washington University, Texas Woman’s University, Eckerd College, Eastern Michigan University, and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Dr. Sanchez holds degrees from the National Conservatory of Music “Carlos López Buchardo” and Ball State University. Prior to his appointment at Texas A&M University–Commerce, he was on the faculty at St. Petersburg College, FL. |

Curt Thompson Curt Thompson is Founder and Executive Director of the Mimir Chamber Music Festival, held annually at TCU where he serves as Associate Professor of Violin and Director of Chamber Music Studies. The Festival will celebrate its 12th season July 6-17, 2009. Thompson has performed recitals throughout Europe, Central America, and South America. With TCU colleagues Messrs. Feghali and Castro-Balbi he performed at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, featuring the world premiere of Search for Piano Trio by composer Samuel Zyman. In addition to his duties at TCU, he has given master classes at several institutions. During the spring 2002 semester, he maintained a violin studio as Guest Artist/Lecturer at his alma mater, Indiana University, where years earlier he received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees and the prestigious Performer’s Certificate while studying with Nelli Shkolnikova. In 2003 Thompson completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Rice University where he studied with Sergiu Luca. |
